Revolutionary Combination of Art and Science
Dynamic Aqua Art’s self-contained, low-maintenance water art sheds light on the beauty of a liquid vortex. Its revolutionary design is based on more than 30 years of hydraulic-engineering experience – plus sophisticated physical and mathematical modeling.
For example, Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) was used to refine the swirling inlet design. CFD is basically the same compute-intensive tool the National Weather Service uses to predict weather patterns. And both small-scale and large-scale models were tested in one of the country’s leading hydraulics laboratories.
The end result is a unique and dynamic modern water feature whose mesmerizing, colorful bubble patterns will illuminate your work or living space and inspire – even mesmerize – you and your customers.
A patent application was submitted in September 2010 for this new water feature, which is like nothing you have ever seen before. And it was invented by a modern-day Leonardo DaVinci, who during his 36-year career with one of the world’s preeminent engineering firms, was awarded the prestigious Hydraulic Structures medal by the American Society of Civil Engineers.
This new DaVinci’s name is Allen Davis, and the medal he received for making “significant contributions to the advancement of the art and science of hydraulic engineering” attests to his ability to merge elegant design with exquisite beauty.
To help make his idea become a reality, Dr. Davis relied heavily on the talents of Dale Romrell, whose stellar background in physical design and development has been invaluable.
The Aqua Mystique
Their interior water feature is called the Aqua Mystique, and it is difficult to describe the mesmerizing effect its bubble patterns have on observers as they spin out of a vortex and ascend the transparent, colorfully lighted columns.
Even with all the advances in technology today, it is difficult to capture in digital form the grace and beauty of the bubble patterns as they migrate into repeatable shapes that take on the form of butterflies, migrating salmon, tornadoes, etc.
The forms are endless and, like constellations in the sky, can be pointed out so viewers can see what others have seen – or be completely left to the imagination – creating a beautiful new experience each time the Aqua Mystique is viewed.
