The “Standard” Aqua Mystique
Dynamic Aqua Art’s standard indoor water feature is configured as an off-the-shelf, four-inch- diameter, single-tube wall unit that requires some assembly. Its overall dimensions are 93-inches high, by 43-inches wide, by 26½-inches deep.
An alternative five-sided unit (see Fig. 1) fits nicely in oft-wasted corner spaces.

A doctor’s office or elder-care facility are ideal settings for the relaxing characteristics the Aqua Mystique indoor water feature. It makes waiting more pleasant and interesting.
Three distinct subsystems of the Aqua Mystique are shown in Figure 2. They are identified as:
•
Upper, which contains the upper tank and vortex generator(s);
•
Middle, which contains the clear, acrylic viewing pipe(s); light-emitting-diode (LED) light string(s); dark, semi-circular background; PVC return piping to supply the upper tank; and electronic controls to operate the pump, lighting and control valve(s); and
•
Lower, which contains the pump, lower tank, control valve(s), long-radius 90-degree piping and throttling valve(s).
The Aqua Mystique is shipped in three containers, which include the Upper, Middle, and Lower components. If desired, the Middle and Lower subsystems can be assembled and separately. These two subsystems can then be rolled into place before the Upper section is added. No special preparations (such as concrete, brick or electrical work) are necessary.
Fig. 2
Each part’s location and orientation are defined in accordance with its system and subsystem.
With the top detached, the Aqua Mystique indoor water feature will easily fit through an 36- by 66-inch door in an upright position. And with the top in place, it can be housed in a room with eight-foot ceilings. Standard 110-volt wall plugs provide adequate electrical power to meet its pump and lighting requirements. Approximately 40 gallons of water are needed to initially fill the lower tank. Subsequent water requirements are limited to about one gallon per week to compensate for evaporation.
Because most of the space required is vertical, the Aqua Mystique’s footprint is relatively small. In particular, a corner unit uses floor space that is not well utilized in most waiting rooms.
Alternative Designs
Off-the-shelf variations of the basic unit include:
•
A rectangular wall unit with three tubes;
•
A five-sided corner unit with one tube;
•
A five-sided corner unit with three tubes;
•
An outdoor, single-tube unit with pipes used as the supporting structure; and
•
A triple-tube outdoor unit with pipes used as the supporting structure.
Configurations for customized designs are virtually limitless. Variables that can be considered include the number of tubes, their size, their geometric configuration and the encasement configuration and finish. For example, the structural elements could be made of rectangular tubing or L-shaped metal elements. Once the basic structure is assembled, laminates or sheet metal might be used for the exterior finish. One's imagination is practically the only barrier.
